Delta Group is the world's largest provider of switching power supplies and a major source for power management solutions, components, visual displays, industrial automation, and networking products. Headquartered in Taiwan, Delta reported revenues of US$ 3 billion in 2004 and has experienced an 18% compound annual growth rate over the past ten years. Established in 1971, Delta's rapid growth was entirely organic until 2003 when it acquired Ascom Energy Systems, which was renamed Delta Energy Systems. In October 2005, Delta became the largest shareholder in PECO II, a leading North American power equipment and services provider. Delta has continued to successfully turn a profit every year since its inception.

Delta Group is comprised of two publicly listed companies with 17 manufacturing facilities totaling 6.6 million square feet in production space, 18 R&D centers, and 42 sales offices in major locations around the world. Delta Electronics, Inc. was listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 1988, followed by Delta Electronics (Thailand) on the Thailand Stock Exchange in 1995. Along with receiving distinctive recognition from blue chip customers, such as Cisco's Supplier of the Year award (2004) and Microsoft's Vendor of the Year award (2004), Delta has received the Best Corporate Governance Award (2004) from Asset Benchmark Research and the Corporate Social Responsibility Award (2005) from Global Views magazine. Delta has also been honored by Commonwealth magazine as Taiwan's "Most Admired Company" in the electronics industry for four consecutive years since 2002. Delta's major customers include world-class IT companies such as Dell, HP, IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, SONY, and NEC.

Focusing on Innovation

Innovation is the focus of Delta's research and development. Delta's design process is based on Product Life Cycle Management (PLM), which provides a stringent and accelerated design cycle while ensuring product quality and reliability. Delta consistently invests 5~6% of its revenues in R&D each year to keep ahead of the industry. The capability for innovative design is what sets Delta apart from the competition.

Looking Toward a Green Future

As a global leader in power electronics, Delta has a special commitment to the environment and society. Delta has implemented green, lead-free production and recycling and waste management programs for many years, and is a certified Sony Green Partner. All of Delta's facilities are ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 certified and many of them qualify for OHSAS 18001, QS 9000, TL 9000, TLS 8001 and TS 16949. The majority of Delta's products are already compliant with the RoHS and WEEE directives, and the company is on track to reach complete corporate-wide compliance by the fourth quarter of 2005. Delta is also developing new technologies and products for the environment, including solar cells, fuel cells, and flat fluorescent lamps (FFL). To spearhead its efforts in solar energy, Delta established a subsidiary, DelSolar, in 2004, which will be ready for production by end of 2005. For Delta, the company mission continues to be: "To provide innovative energy-saving products for a better quality of life."
